Something for the Kids (and a Deserving Mum)
Hey lovely,
Half term is full-on. It’s joyful and messy, loud and lovely, and often leaves very little time for yourself.
For July’s Pretty Perfect Gesture, we wanted to recognise the quiet effort behind it all.
The parents keeping plates spinning. The children making memories. And an incredible mum who deserved a little lift.
This month was about showing care in simple ways. No big spotlight. No expectations.
Just kindness tucked into a parcel and sent with love.
Here’s what we got up to…
🎒 A little help for the PTA
One of our lovely PPP community members reached out to Jacquelyn about a school fundraising raffle she was helping organise through the PTA - and asked if we’d like to be involved.
Of course, we said yes.
We sent over a Pretty Perfect box of goodies to help them raise money for their school, so they could run more events for the children and bring a little extra joy into the day-to-day.
Why PTAs matter:
Parent Teacher Associations are run by mums, dads, carers and staff who care deeply about giving children the best possible experience at school.
They raise funds for school trips, playtime equipment, craft materials, after-school activities - all the extras that make school feel exciting and joyful, and often more than what the budget allows.
We were proud to play a small part in supporting the wonderful things they’re doing.
⚽ Kits for the Kids
Our second gesture went to a local children’s football team who needed support ahead of the new season.
We became proud sponsors of a local children's football team, covering the cost of their brand-new match kits (yes, they have our logo on them… and they look very cute).
It may seem like a small thing, but for a local club, a full team kit can be a big cost.
There’s pitch hire, match fees, kit, training equipment, referees, registration… and often not enough funding to go round.
By stepping in to help with the kits, we hoped to take one big weight off their shoulders and keep little minds and bodies active, building confidence, friendships, and community.
💌 A moment for Mum
Half term is filled with snack making, trip planning, meltdown dodging and memory making - and parents, especially mums, give every bit of themselves to make it happen.
So, for our third gesture, we asked our Pretty Perfect Community to nominate a mum who could really use a little treat, and some time for self-care.
We received so many beautiful nominations. You reminded us again just how much care and love lives in this community.
The gift went to Stephanie, a mum of three, who had just welcomed her newest baby girl four weeks before.
We sent her a PPP budget binder filled with little self-care treats and gift cards for:
💖 Boots
💖 Costa
💖 One4All
💖 National Book Token
💖 IKEA (perfect for setting up a family command centre!)
…plus a few surprises from us, of course.
It wasn’t a huge gift. But we hope it reminded her that she matters too.
